Summit Health taps Dr. Laura Herrera Scott to lead its strategy focused on population health and value
BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aiming to build on its success in value-based care and population health management, Health Summit today announced the appointment of Laura Herrera Scott, MD, MPH, as Executive Vice President of Population Health. Effective immediately, Dr. Scott will be responsible for executing Summit Health’s value-based care strategy, a critical area for the company’s future growth.

Dr. Scott joins Summit Health from Anthem, Inc., where she most recently served as Vice President of Population Health. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Clinical Operations for Medicaid at Anthem. She earned an MD from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University; a master’s degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health; and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baruch College. In addition to many stages of his career, Dr. Scott also served as a Major in the US Army Reserve Medical Corps.
