SFH appoints Emir of Zazzau as ambassador for adolescent nutrition and health
Society for Family Health (SFH) appointed the Emir of Zazzau,
Amb. Ahmed Bamalli, as an ambassador for nutrition, adolescent and family health programs to expand access to nutrition and improve reproductive health services in Nigeria.
The company’s managing director, Dr Omokhudu Idogho, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to Emir Zaria on Tuesday.
Idogho, represented by Mr James Ocholi, said the visit was to seek the Royal Father’s blessing and ask him to be the organization’s ambassador for adolescent and family nutrition and health programmes.
“When we speak up and say his blessings are with us, I believe people will listen and support the programs; Our desire is to have healthy Kaduna where women and children are healthy,” he said.
He said the organization was working in 11 local governments in Kaduna State on various projects including Adolescent 360 and Accelerating Nutrition Result in Nigeria (ANRIN).
The Managing Director hinted that ANRIN is all about improving child nutrition in Zaria, Igabi,
Local governments of Sabon Gari, Birnin Gwari and Lere.
The others are the local governments of Kubau, Makarfi, Soba and Kauru.
He said the organization would rely on traditional and religious institutions to send the
information down to the base, hence the visit to the Emir of Zazzau.
He called for supporting the projects by allowing women and children to participate to ensure the good health of families.
In his response, Amb. Ahmed Bamalli, Emir of Zazzau, reiterated his commitment to support the organization to succeed in its projects.
