Community Engagement and Health Promotion Activity Manager M/F

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations in need: most often in the event of armed conflict, but also during epidemics, natural disasters and those excluded from healthcare. . MSF France is currently working in 30 different countries.

After an analysis of the situation and by involving local populations, the Community Engagement and Health Promotion (EC/HP) Activities Manager defines and implements EC/HP strategies to support medical activities. CE/HP activities are therefore fully integrated with medical activities.

Activities

Establish an inventory (target population, population demand, healthcare seeking behavior, level of knowledge, beliefs, environmental factors, etc.) to define CE/SP strategies

Define and update the EC/SP strategy and action plan (objectives, target population, campaigns, messages, activities, specific actions, etc.) involving local populations

Ensure the implementation of CE/HP activities and develop educational tools

Monitor and evaluate CE/PS activities (define indicators and monitoring tools, collect and analyze data)

Manage staff involved in CE/HP activities (recruitment, composition, training, coaching, evaluation, etc.)

Ensure collaboration with the other components of the project and the other partners working in CE/HP.

Profile EDUCATION

Master’s degree in anthropology or sociology (social sciences), public health with a specialization in health promotion or community health (or nursing degree with a master’s degree in community health care)

LIVE

2 years of relevant professional experience (community engagement, health promotion, health education, prevention, community mobilization, etc.)

Experience working on topics such as HIV/TB, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, chronic diseases, epidemics, sexual and gender-based violence, etc.

Management or training experience preferred

AVAILABLITY

6 to 12 months

LANGUAGE

Fluency in English (level B1)

SKILLS

Experience in using qualitative methodology.

Experience in designing, implementing and monitoring community engagement and health promotion strategies.

Experience in humanitarian contexts.

Experience with social media management.

Experience as an illustrator, graphic designer.

Ready to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams

Conditions

Status: International volunteering. MSF provides: transport, accommodation and a monthly per diem. Insurance: medical coverage, repatriation.
